News – October 22, 2021

Dear Members and Friends:

I am getting excited, tempered with hesitation.

It’s looking like we can do more in person before too long. The spike in cases is going down and the number of ICU beds available is looking so much better here in Harris County. However, I feel like we’ve been here once before and then, we had to wait months once more. Therefore, I’m hesitant while the overall news looks pretty good.

In the meantime, we continue to have in-person options every other Sunday for our Religious Education for children and youth. Gatherings are held outdoors and in well-ventilated, open rooms. Recently, we all felt wonderfully when more than a dozen of our teens joined us in person. They went to a nearby greenspace and explored big questions, Unitarian Universalist values and how to make a difference in the world. Wow!

When we are not meeting in person, children and youth share their thoughts and opinions through our online gatherings.

There are other outdoor Fall opportunities…

We hope we will be…  meeting more together, have more options, and create connections to build our beloved community and deeper relationships safely in person soon, soon, soon!
