All day: Blood Drive @ First ChurchAll day: Blood Drive @ First Church All day On November 7, First Church will partner with the The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center to host a blood collection drive that will be staged in the parking lot on Southmore Street across from the church. In addition to receiving free snacks and drinks for restoration of their energy after donating blood, donors will be given a free T-shirt emblazoned with a snazzy inscription displaying their giving blood contribution to save a life. 2:00 pm: Active Hope Training Session2:00 pm: Active Hope Training Session – A few years ago, the church studied the book Active Hope, which tells us "We have to choose our attitude about the climate crisis, hope our despair. We don't know if humanity will respond wisely, but we don't know that we won't either. So we have to choose our attitude." The Climate Action Team worked the follow-up program "Active Hope Training" this summer and liked it so much, they are starting a new session on October 30. They will meet every other Saturday, skipping Christmas.
