March 3, 2022

The Spaces for Reflection and Sharing program has wound down, but Rev. Scott is preparing to offer a grief workshop for First Church members and friends early in the new year. Navigating Grief is a class for those experiencing grief due to a significant life change, such as death of a loved one or divorce.

This is a six-consecutive-week course, and participants should plan to attend all six sessions. There is “group-think,” self-processing, table-sharing opportunities, and some writing work between sessions. March 27, 2022

Dr. Jolie Rocke is introducing a new quarterly series of Arts Forums at First Church. Beginning Sunday, March 27, 2022. This production is a celebration of the African American female performance tradition and its impact on the fight for freedom and equality. For more than 150 years, several women defined career paths that fed them artistically and financially as they enriched this nation and the world. Discover the music and acclaim of fourteen pioneering women including Sissieretta Jones, Marian Anderson, Mahalia Jackson, Pearl Bailey, and Lola Falana.
