Greeters provide a welcoming presence at each Sunday morning service. Serving on this team is a great way for you to meet other members members and guests.

Some Greeters provide other service (with just a little training). This includes–

Welcome Table. Each Sunday there is a specially marked “Welcome Table” next to a church literature rack. This designated place for newcomers and prospective members makes it easy to interact with folks.

Audio Visual Team members operate a video camera to record the Sunday Service for use at other campuses, and for online access.

Offering Collectors collect and count the Sunday offering.

Guest Orientation. Several times per year, we have a “New U” class or other events for newcomers to help learn about Unitarian Universalism and opportunities through and with our church.

Sunday Office Volunteers: Volunteers keep things running smoothly on Sundays. This involves answering basic questions about the church and providing church literature upon request. A friendly voice on the phone is often the first contact a guest may experience at First Church. We provide training to enable volunteers to assist callers appropriately. Our office volunteers enjoy lively interaction with the ministers and paid staff.

Chancel Enhancement / Flower Team members take turns providing flowers or other décor for the sanctuary each week.

RE Team – It is an exciting and rewarding experience. Teachers generally teach in rotating teams. Teaching gives you the opportunity to be with the younger segment of our community, to make an important contribution to the whole, to learn more about Unitarian Universalism, and to meet other adults in our community. While all members are encouraged to help with the programs for children and youth, parents are expected to give a little extra to make the program excellent. We ask parents and caregivers to teach several times each quarter or to otherwise support the religious education program. Our Religious Education Director can help you find the best place for you to help.  .
