Marchamos Por Lorenzo/ ICE Out of Texas: Rally and Mass March to City Hall

Currently 1 in 4 ICE arrests happen in Texas. Sponsored by the national Workers Defense Action Fund, and local organizations including Houston in Action, Texas Area Gulf Coast Labor Federation, Houston DSA and SEIU Texas, this mass mobilization will demand justice for Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, for the release of the witnesses, and for action from our state and local elected officials. More information and a registration link are available here.

First Church members have also been asked to serve as peacekeepers for this event- those interested must take the 7/24 safety and de-escalation training. To volunteer as a peacekeeper, please contact immigration@firstuu.org.

The rally will be at Remembrance Park, and then marching to City Hall.
