April: Reading Anthony Pinn’s most recent book, Interplay of Things: Religion, Art, and Presence Together (Duke University Press, 2021). Perhaps the most influential living Unitarian Universalist and Black humanist theologian, Dr. Pinn teaches at Rice University where he holds several appointments including as the Agnes Cullen Arnold Distinguished Professor of Humanities and Inaugural Director, Center for African and African American Studies. He is also a longtime friend of the congregation. Meetings scheduled for April 12th and April 26th. May: Reading Jamesland by Michelle Huneven (Vintage, 2004). Huneven is a Unitarian Universalist and her novel focuses on the community in and around a Unitarian Universalist church in Los Angeles. Meetings scheduled for May 17th and 31st.

The next session of Dr. Bossen’s book discussion group will meet online on April 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CT). This year, we’re reading texts connected to the research for his forthcoming book “Unitarian Universalist Theologies."
