The Race to the Moon – An Example of American Exceptionalism?

Later in July, the world will celebrate 50 years since man walked on the moon.  In hindsight, the space race can be examined within the socio-political context of the time.  Was this just another example of “American Exceptionalism” or one of the greatest technological achievements of all time?  Perhaps religion provides a perspective.  Lay-leader Betty Johnson offers our annual Independence Day service.
