Martin Luther King, Jr. often said, “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” His words were inspired by the nineteenth-century abolitionist Unitarian minister Theodore Parker. The sentiments of both men suggest a certain faith in the inherent tendency of human society to move towards justice. In this service on Martin Luther King, Jr. Sunday we’ll ask: What if King and Parker are both wrong?
