Nominating Committee

Nominations for the Board of Trustees and Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee's Functions and Members

The Nominating Committee has two main functions. The first, which is determined by our constitution and required by the Board of Trustees, is the nominating function. For this function, the Nominating Committee ensures that a slate of candidates for the Board of Trustees and Nominating Committee are brought to the congregation at the annual General Meeting. The process of finding and choosing candidates is clear and transparent. The candidates are interviewed with careful consideration. Once chosen, the church announces the names of the candidates well in advance of the General Meeting. The second function is to create an environment that supports personal growth and opportunity for members, one aspect of which is growing leaders. With this, the Nominating Committee makes volunteer opportunities known, provides training when needed and communicates opportunities for leadership conferences to the congregation.

The Nominating Committee is composed of five members elected by the congregation plus one past President of the Board and one current Board member. The past President and current Board member are chosen by the Board. Current members are as follows:

  • Karen Carlson
  • Marilyn Knight
  • Mary Koch
  • Garth Ogzewalla
  • Kendra Pecci
  • Andy Savidge
  • Jennifer Sorrells
