Museum District Sunday Celebration
Sunday Celebration is the center of our community life. You are invited to be a part of what we co-create!
Sunday Services are at 10:30 a.m. when public schools are in session.
There is no dress code. People wear what they are most comfortable in — it varies from “Sunday Best” to tee shirt, shorts and sandals, or anything in between.
During the service, there is child care for infants and toddlers in the nursery, and religious education classes for ages 3 year through 18. Adults have their own schedule of classes.
Each Sunday children are included in the opening part of the worship service. Then they leave for their classes with their teachers. (If you are new, feel free to accompany your child to class, then return to the service.) Younger children (through 5th grade) have a Closing Circle in the Fireside Room after church (the large room near the front gates) and should be picked up there after church. Middle and high school youth usually meet their families in Channing Hall (the glassed in fellowship hall between the office and the sanctuary) after their classes.
Before and after the Worship Services:
Before services, greeters in the front courtyard who will be happy to assist you. And they staff a table (with a Welcome Table sign on it) after each service. There is a literature rack nearby, full of our publications. The church office also has volunteers to assist you before and after services.
Please feel welcome to enjoy conversation and complimentary coffee, tea and lemonade in Channing Hall (the fellowship hall adjacent to the sanctuary) — it’s a great way to meet new people. Or join us for a reasonably priced brunch, cafeteria style, after each Sunday service.
