Earlier this week, First UU Church received confirmation that a $38,000 grant was approved as part of the UUA Harvey Disaster Relief Fund. “The Disaster Relief Application Review Team hopes that it will be helpful for your congregation and community,” said Rev. Dawn Skjei Cooley, Congregational Life Staff at the Unitarian Universalist Association Southern Region.

First UU Church plans to use these funds for building repair projects which were causally related to the effects of Hurricane Harvey and/or intended to avoid recurrence of similar damages in the future.

“Thank you for letting the world of Unitarian Universalists support you in this time,” Rev. Cooley added, “we are holding you all in our hearts and prayers.”
